Any fighters who are not local are permited to video their weigh in at their own gym on the 19th sept and bring it along with you the day of the fight. We must be able to see the weight on the scales and have that days news paper as proof.

Hi All
I have made the decision to cancel Spartan 3 on November 15th.
I am currently in negotiations with possible Sponsors and media companies to give the promotion more exposure in the UK.
Also the 15th didnt work out to be a good date for many of the Red Dragon fighters so instead of changing the date and putting on a half arsed show ive took the executive decision to cancel.
I would like to apologise to all the fighters and coaches who have contacted me looking to get on this show.
Spartan 3 will now take place early next year and if all the negotiations go the way i want them it will be an International card in a Big venue.

Congrats on wot seems to be two successful nites for MMA Smile

I've heard some good reviews about the show in Strabane (the grapevine from Galway hasnt hit yet but I'm sure it will soon lol Laughing

). It seems Strabane had a great show and well done! No doubt TW had the same as it had a great card also - and wot an awesome fight they must hav had in Hannon v. Begley and Seery v. Loverbrands.

Anyway well done - next show in Newry with an excellent card also Cool

A few Changes to Chaos Original Card.

Peter Duncan is out so Ronan McKay (EFR) is stepping into the fray to challange Jonny Shiels. Should be an exciting match.

John McClements has pulled out due to injury and Kevin Carney has taken his place to fight Shane T Pro A rules.

Connor cassidy sustained an injury in training and Chris Gallagher (strabane) who has one win at cage wars is taking his place

Some other minor changes. The fight card will be on site over weekend. Tickets now available. Book soon as people were turned away at the door at our last show.

Great replacement in the Shiels fight altho Peter is always a pleasure to watch and I look forward to seein him again but he had sustainted a bad cut in the Letterkenny show and this may b the reason he isnt fightin Confused

Hi all i didnt know where to post this but hopefully you will find it here.

Red Dragon Gym (Antrim MMA) will be holding an open day on Sunday December 7th. "Christmas bonding".........

This is an open invitation to ALL clubs, coaches, fighters and fans.

I havent made a format out as of yet but we have Junior and Senior KickBoxers as well as the Junior and Senior MMA Team available for Striking Sparring.
And the Junior and Senior MMA team for Rolling.

There will be no competition just casual training. The Idea is to bring members from other clubs together and give them the chance to Spar/Roll with other people that they dont have the chance to.

Please let me know your thoughts. Ive already had interest from some clubs but i would really like to have some of the senior fighters in Northern Irish MMA there too.

Good idea,we do this every saturday from noon at EFR,we have an open mat where fighters or people from other clubs as far away as the republic,and the uk come along to roll and hang out

Deffo a good idea Marty, I have a kids competition that day in Limerick so I won't be making the trek, best of luck with it though.

Its a pity your busy that day but im sure we could sort something out for our Juniors at a later date.

Yeah Davey (if thats you) Im thinking of something along the same lines as what you do in EFR HQ but make it an all day affair.

So far the Idea is....

10am-11.30am The junior Kick Boxers and Ladies Kick Boxers Sparring and training. Light and casual. This is based more around Juniors and beginners.

12pm-2pm; Short Muay Thai workout with BNMAA and BBI registered KRU Marty Walker (Fresh from 4 weeks in Thailand) followed by "Striking" Sparring.
This is open to all experienced fighters and Coaches. The sparring will be over 3 or 5 min rounds and will be very casual if you want a break have a break. Mix it up and spar with as many different people as you can.

2pm-2.30pm; Lunch break! We will provide a small lunch for anyone who will be attending "all day".

2.30pm-whenever; Rolling. Same as earlier but the rolling will be over 5 min rounds. Get in have a roll when the buzzer beeps sit out and chill if you want. If not Find someone else and crack on.
This is open to everyone. Juniors to experienced Pros and Coaches.

Also during the "Rolling" if any one is up for it we could set up a knock out Grappling Tourney. If anyone is interested in this part of the day let me know names before hand ill organize some sort of Prize for winner and Sub of the day.

I dont really want to charge for the day but because it means closing the Gym we must. But its not alot for the experience. Im hoping to get away with £5 a head.

I really want as many clubs to take part as possible. It will be fun. And you might even get your face in the Paper!

Hey all.
Im gonna have to push the date of our open day back until Sunday the 14th.
The problem is that Marty (snr) is still in Thailand. He was due to be back before the weekend to do the Thai seminar as part of the day but because of the problems with the Thai Airports he cant get back till Monday or Tuesday. We were hoping he would be able to make it before Sunday anyway but because of the backlog its not gonna be that way.
Id like to apologise for any inconvience this may cause.

Spartan Promotions will return to the MMA scene in May and June after nearly a year.

On Sunday May 30th we will be holding our first Amateur show in Antrim town. This show will be all Amateur D and C-Class fights fought in a ring much in the same way the EFR semi-pro series is run. It will be in a small venue and tickets will be considerably cheaper than the previous shows we have put on. The purpose of this show is to give the new lads training in the sport a chance to compete without being thrown into a cage in front of hundreds of people.

On Saturday June 26th will be Spartan 5: Resurrection.
This will be a full Pro show consisting of 10 Professional fights and an undercard of 4 C-Class bouts and maybe a couple of Thai or K1 style fights to mix things up. This show will be held in Belfast and aims to be a return to the type of show that many in the Irish MMA community have been looking for in the last couple of years. All four of our Irish titles will be fought for on this show and i aim to have one of the biggest names in Irish MMA topping the bill.

I will start matching fights now so anyone that wants on to either show get in touch.
